The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has deplored the deadly suicide blast in the procession of mourners on Misriyal Road in Dhoke Syedian area of Rawalpindi. Expressing his grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of several persons in the blast and injuring of many others, Mr Hussain said that if the killings of the mourners and other innocent people continued relentlessly, the fire of terrorism would engulf the entire country.
Mr Hussain said that the situation may reach a point where the terrorists could not be stopped altogether and the wave of terrorism would burn everything to ashes. He urged upon the government and the law-enforcing agencies that there was yet time. They should pursue the terrorists and eliminate them from the country as the integrity and security of the country hinged upon it. If no action was taken against the terrorists and their activities continued unstoppably, there would be complete destruction.
Mr Hussain said that the organizers of a procession, whether it was religious, political or for mourning, should take steps for protecting the procession on the self-help basis. He asked them to keep a watchful eye on miscreants and always remain alert.
Mr Hussain asked all the religious and political parties of the country to come forward and play an active role against terrorism. He asked them to show unity and save Pakistan from destruction.
He sympathized with the grieving families of the mourners who lost their lives in the suicide blast and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
