A joint and emergency meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in London and Karachi was held today to deliberate on the situation developing in the country after the judgment of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The meeting unanimously observed that the MQM believes in the independence of judiciary and regards it with dignity. The meeting said that the MQM accepts the judgment of the Supreme Court on the disqualification of Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani. The MQM is a democratic party and believes that the democratic process must continue in the country under all conditions. Confrontation between the institutions should be avoided at every cost as the policy of confrontation would not be in the interest of the country.
