Iqbal Haider has passed away but he will always live in our thoughts and memories
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the untimely death of former federal law minister and co-chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Iqbal Haider Advocate. Paying rich tributes to Mr Haider for his services, Mr Hussain said that he was an active human rights worker, a great personality and a true leader who always fought for the rights of the poor and deprived people.
Mr Hussain said that Mr Haider had rendered meritorious services in the fields of politics, law and human rights and served the humanity. He worked day and night for eliminating extremism from the country and for promoting religious and sectarian harmony, and his services could never be forgotten.
Mr Hussain said that he could not believe that Mr Haider was no more among us. He has passed away, but he would always live in our thoughts and memories. He appealed to the people of Pakistan to pray Almighty Allah to shower His blessings and divine forgiveness on the departed soul. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and said that their grief was shared and felt by him and each worker of the MQM.
Mr Hussain telephoned the wife and brother in law of Mr Haider soon after getting the news of the death and offered his condolences. He said that he had talked to Mr Haider on telephone several times in recent days, and the news of his untimely death had upset him greatly. He said that Mr Haider had said that he (Mr Hussain) was working for a noble cause and had offered his services in spite of his illness.
Mr Hussain said that Mr Haider was like an elder brother to him, and this relation would never break. He prayed Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and patience to the grieving family members to bear the irreparable loss.
