Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has expressed concern over the four year sentence awarded by an Afghan Court to Pakistani journalist Faiz Ullah Khan.
Mr. Hussain has written a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai and has appealed to him to review the case on humanitarian grounds and release him immediately.
In his letter Mr. Hussain has written that the media reports say Faiz Ullah Khan had gone to perform his journalistic duty in the tribal area and inadvertently crossed the border.
Mr. Hussain has also appealed to the government of Pakistan to initiate diplomatic efforts to overturn the conviction and his return.  He expressed his sympathies with the family members of Faiz Ullah Khan.
