If the Ummah did not change its attitude then their number would come after Palestine
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that bombing on Gaza by Israel is a blatant barbarism and aggression and the silence of the UN and Muslims countries is deplorable.
He expressed these views in an interview.
Mr. Hussain expressed condemnation of the bombing by Israel on unarmed Palestinian people by fighter planes, tanks and missiles. He expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies over the deaths of more than 200 Palestinian women, children and elders and people who have been rendered homeless.
Mr. Hussain deplored that members of OIC and Arab league and people of Islamic world were watching the Israeli aggression like silent spectators. He added that their silence should be condemned as much as possible.
He said that Islamic world should not think that this was happening to Palestinian people only. He added that if the Ummah did not change its attitude then their number would come after Palestine.
“The situation of Islamic countries were already horrible and distressing. I have written a letter to the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon on the Gaza situation, which was titled ‘SOS’. However, it is deplorable that UN has not done anything in this regard, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“Israel’s backers are powerful countries and the rulers of Islamic countries are apathetic towards the Gaza situation and busy in their busy in merry making. They should change their behavior, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain appealed to political and religious parties of the country that they should keep their differences which is natural in a democracy, but the situation demands that that they should unite on this agenda and do something to stop the aggression of Israel. He added that political and religious parties, human rights organizations, civil societies, lawyers and business community should end ther difference and shook the conscience of Islamic countries.
He said we should held a joint peaceful rally in support of Palestinian people and against Israeli aggression. He added that MQM would attend this joint rally.
Mr. Hussain said we should celebrate August 14 with patriotic fervor. He added that we should avoid thing which causes confrontation and conflict.
