MQM Coordination Committee applauded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s approval for various projects in Karachi and urban areas in Sindh.
In statement, the Coordination Committee said the mega city was always neglected, despite providing 70 percent of country’s revenue. It said the metropolis’ population was increased 100 percent during a decade or two but was deprived from various ongoing developing projects. The Committee said funding for development projects was never proportionally appropriate as it earned revenue for the country.
The Coordination Committee said during the last local bodies era, MQM introduced Green Bus Scheme but sooner the local government completed its tenure, the bus scheme was dumped. Similarly, other urban areas of the province, especially Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur and Nawabshah were also deprived of appropriate development to maintain their civil and social lives.
The Committee hoped that Prime Minister’s approvals for the various projects and promises for future projects would be realized soon. It also demanded development package for Hyderabad, second biggest city of Sindh, to rescue it from being ruined.
