MQM Condemns The Murderous Attacks Carried Out By Members Of The Taliban On Karachi Airport

MQM condemns the murderous attack carried out by members of the Taliban on Karachi airport over the last two days.

Founder and leader of the party, Mr Altaf Hussain said: “ MQM was the first Pakistani political party to denounce the Taliban as a terrorist organization. For many years MQM as been waiting that the Taliban were focusing their attention on Karachi.

“We now call on the government of Pakistan to end its ambivalent attitude towards the Taliban and do everything in its power to eliminate an organization whose sole aim is to destroy legitimate government and democracy in Pakistan through a campaign of terrorism and fear”

MQM promises full cooperation with government efforts to defeat the Taliban, restore security in Karachi and safe guard the democratic process. It is firmly opposed both to the Taliban and to all forms of fanaticism and extremism and believes that government shoul be based on policy, not religion.
