The Co-ordination Committee terms the murders a part of the conspiracy to fuel sectarian violence
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has deplored the killings of the Chairman of the Islamic Research Centre Trust Mukhtar Azmi and his son Muhammad Baqar Azmi and has termed the killings a part of the conspiracy to fuel sectarian violence and bloodshed. It warned that the killings of innocent Muslims on sectarian grounds were a conspiracy against the existence and security of the country. It called upon the religious scholars to frustrate this conspiracy by showing exemplary unity.
The Co-ordination Committee expressed sympathies to the grieving family members and prayed Almighty Allah to shower His blessings on the departed souls. It demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take serious notice of the murders of Mukhtar Azmi and his son Muhammad Baqar Azmi. It further said that the culprits should be arrested and given stern punishments. It also stressed upon the government to take effective steps for protecting the life and property of the citizens.
