Altaf Hussain’s arrest MQM stages sit-in, national leaders extend solidarity

MQM supporters and workers staged a sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi to show inseparable bonding to their party chief Altaf Hussain over his arrest by London police.
Earlier, member of Coordination Committee Haider Abbas Rizvi appealed to MQM supporters and workers to stage a sit-in to show solidarity with Altaf Hussain at Numaish Chowrangi on M.A Jinnah Road. He said the entire nation, especially the Karachiites suffered into a deep pain after listening to the news of their leader’s arrest by Scotland Yard.
After hearing the appeal, people thronged at Numiash Chowrangi and staged a sit-in with posters and banners in favour of Altaf Hussain. People from all over the city gathered at the point in scorching sun and unbearable heat, chanting slogans for their leader.
Meanwhile, a PPP delegation led by Provincial Minister Sikander Mendhro, including Rashid Rabbani, Wiqar Mehdi and other workers, visited the sit-in to show its solidarity with Altaf Hussain and MQM. PPP’s Rehman Malik, APML’s Ahmed Raza Qasuri, PML-F’s Imtiaz Sheikh, Senior Vice-President Pakistan Awami Tehreek Ali Ausat and various national leaders also called MQM International Secretariat to inquire about and show solidarity with Altaf Hussain.
