Altaf Hussain is raising his voice for equal rights of minorities: MQM
 Posted on: 8/25/2012
Altaf Hussain is struggling for the minorities according to the teachings of the Quaid-i-Azam
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that Pakistan needed unity and solidarity in the present circumstances. Killing Pakistani citizens on the basis of sectarian differences was, in fact, killing the Quaid-i-Azam. Pakistan was surrounded by threats and killing people belonging to the Shia community by pulling them off from buses and verifying their identity was an act of enmity against Pakistan itself.
The Co-ordination Committee said that we must think as Shia and Sunni or Hindu and non-Muslim. We should think as Pakistanis and no one in the country should be discriminated against for any reason. The Co-ordination Committee strongly condemned the recent killings of innocent people and said that certain elements were killing innocent people because of sectarian and religious differences thereby trying to bring harm to the national security and integrity.
The Co-ordination Committee said that Mr Altaf Hussain is the only leader who is trying as a true Muslim to maintain sectarian harmony and diffuse the feelings of religious tolerance among the followers of different faiths and schools of thought. He is raising his voice for getting equal rights for all the religious minorities living in the country according to the teachings of the Quaid-i-Azam.

The Co-ordination Committee said that Mr Hussain had repeated on a number of occasions that the Quaid-i-Azam belonged to the Shia Twelver sect and hence killing people on their being Shia was the same as killing the Quaid-i-Azam and the killing of the Quaid-i-Azam would mean the killing of Pakistan.
