MQM voices concern over the raids and arrests of workers and killings of professionals by plain-cloth law enforcement personnel

MQM has shown restraint on the brutal measures of the government for the restoration of peace in Karachi
An emergency meeting of MQM Rabita Committee was held at Nine Zero Azizabad to discuss the continued raids and arrests of MQM’s workers and killings of professionals plain-cloth personnel. They are torturing arrested workers and demanding money from their families for their release. The participants of the meeting expressed grave concern on the situation condemned the illegal actions of the law enforcement agencies. 
The Rabita Committee said that these personnel from law enforcement agencies were acting like death squads. They added that they came in plain clothes wearing masks in a double cabin vehicles and kidnap MQM workers. They said that they do not disclose their identities and reason for their raids and arrests.
“Arrested workers are being subjected to torture. They are demanding hefty amounts for the release of the workers. They have arrested six workers and supporters in the past 48 hours. They are killing Urdu Speaking professionals under an organized conspiracy. They have killed three doctors, two professors and a lawyer in the past five days. It appears that people of Karachi has been left at the mercy of these brutal police officers. The government’s apathy is highly condemnable, “ Rabita Committee said.
“MQM has shown restraint on the brutal measures of the government for the restoration of peace in Karachi. However, the residents of city which plays important role in the national economy cannot be left at the mercy of the brutal people, “ Rabita said.
It was also decided in the meeting that MQM reserves the right to protest against the biased police officers’ illegal actions and their brutal actions. Rabita Committee said that if the raids, illegal detentions were not stopped MQM would launch a protest.
The participants of the meeting made an appeal to the Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani to take notice of the illegal actions of plain-cloth law enforcement personnel in Karachi.
