Suggestions for controlling the law and order situation in Karachi were discussed in the meeting
A delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) led by member of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Sagheer Ahmed visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and held meeting with its president Haji Fazl Qadeer Khan and other members.
The Karachi situation was discussed in detail and various suggestions for controlling the failing law and order situation in Karachi considered in the meeting. Views were obtained on the formation of the business forum suggested MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain.
Vice president of the federation Mr Iqbal Dawood Pakwala, noted industrialist SM Munir, Haji Shafique and other members of the FPCCI were present in the meeting. Other members of the MQM delegation included provincial minister Abdur Rauf Siddiqui, Senator Abdul Haseeb, MPA Khawaja Izharul Hassan and noted industrialist Arshad Vohra.
The MQM delegation told the members of the federation that the extortion mafia was plotting against Pakistan and the MQM would not let their conspiracy to succeed. Mr Hussain had announced to place the services 100,000 workers of the MQM at the disposal of the business community for giving them protection and security.
The delegation said that the MQM was always ready to help the business community if they agreed with the suggestion.Speaking on the occasion the office-bearers of the federation said that the MQM was the only political party that had come to the business community, and that they were proud of the MQM. The office-bearers said that the writ of the government was not present as the criminal gangs, extortionists and terrorists could not operate freely without tacit support from government agencies. They said that the extortion mafia was operating without any fear of law and the situation was worsening with each passing day.
