The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed its deep sense of grief and sorrow over the deaths of several persons in an explosion in a firecracker godown in the densely populated area of Hussain Agahi Chowk in Multan. The Co-ordination Committee said that the presence of a firecracker godown in the densely populated area was a criminal negligence on the part of the local administration. It was because of the dereliction of duty of the administration that innocent people died and got injured in the explosion.
The Co-ordination Committee extended sympathies to the family members of the persons killed in the blast and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons. It urged upon Chief Minister of the Punjab Mr Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the blast and the presence of the firecracker godown in the thickly populated area. It also called for action against the elements involved in illegal manufacturing of firecrackers in populated area.
