We cannot build a good society unless we end the suppressive policies and discriminatory treatment of women
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said we cannot build a good society unless we end the suppressive policies and discriminatory treatment of women.
In a statement issued from London on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mr. Hussain said, “ MQM is the only party which presented the bill for the ‘Protection of Women’ in the assembly and got it approved with convincing arguments. It is unfortunate that despite the passage of this bill by the parliament women are still being suppressed and badly treated in the name of old customs, religious and cultural traditions. The main cause of discriminatory treatment against women are feudal, wadera and tribal systems in Pakistan, “ Mr. Hussain said.
“Women are an essential party of our society. MQM wants equal rights for women in every walks of life, “ Mr. Hussain said.
Mr. Hussain congratulated women on their International Day and said MQM would succeed in proving them equal rights and free them from the clutches of suppressive tribal and feudal systems.
