Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar has said that no one can stop the creation of the southern Punjab province. He said that the MQM was the first to submit the resolution for the southern Punjab province in the National Assembly and the MQM would do everything possible for making the new province in South Punjab a reality. He was addressing a public meeting in Mumtazabad area of Multan. Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Wasay Jalil and local office-bearers of the MQM were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sattar said that southern Punjab was a backward area. Spurious pesticides, low quality seeds, and expensive fertilizers had broken the backbone of farmers. He said that the present rulers had given to the people nothing but poverty, unemployment, price-hike, and load-shedding. The MQM would solve all these public problems if it came into power.
Earlier speaking with the farmers and peasants in Jahaniyan, Dr Sattar said that the time had come to decide if the country was to be saved or handed over to the cruel rulers. He said that certain conspiratorial elements were afraid of the popularity of the MQM in the Punjab but added that the MQM would contest elections from the Punjab with full force.
Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Aftakhar Akbar Randhawa also spoke on the occasion.
