Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani along with a 24 members of Federal Cabinet took oath from Gen. Pervez Musharraf in March 2008
If Gen. Pervez Musharraf is a traitor then why did the PM and Ministers take oath from him?
Did the Federal Ministers bath Ganges and Jamna that exonerated them from article 6?
Right from the day one I had given a challenge for an open debate on article 6 to all the Constitutional & Legal Experts but no one accepted that
I standby on my opinion on article 6 even as of today: Altaf Hussain
London: 8th Jan 2014
On 8th of Jan MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain gave a 7 points statement on that against Gen. Pervez Mushrraf on article 6, the dismissal of elected government on 12th Oct 1999 & the imposition of emergency on 3rd Nov 2007. Two important points which were not included in that statement are being now released on points no.8 and 9.
Point No. 8:
After the completion of General Elections 2008 on 18th Feb 2008, Mr. Yousuf Raza Gilani took oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan from Gen. Pervez Musharraf on 25th March 2008. Similarly the 24 member Federal Cabinet of PM Gilani which comprised of 11 ministers from PPP(Pakistan People Party), 9 from PML-N(Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz), 2 from ANP (Awami National Party) and 1 each from JUI-F and FATA also took oath from Gen. Pervez Musharraf on 31st March 2008.
Following are the Ministers who took oath:
11 Ministers from PPP:
1. Shah Mehmood Qurashi
2. Sherri Rehman
3. Syed Naveed Qamar
4. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf
5. Syed Khursheed Shah
6. Qamar Zaman Kaira
7. Senator Farooq Naek
8. Chaudry Ahmad Mukhtar
9. Nazar Mohammad Gondal
10. Najamuddin Khan
11. Mir Humaiyon Aziza Kurd
9 Minsiters from PML-N:
1. Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan
2. Senator Ishaq Dar
3. Ahsan Iqbal
4. Tehmina Daultana
5. Sardar Mehtab Abbasi
6. Khawaja Asif
7. Rana Tanveer Hussain
8. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi
9. Khawaja Saad Rafique
2 Ministers from ANP:
1. Ghulam Ahmed Bilour
2. Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti
1 Minister from JUI-F:
1. Rehmat Ullah Kakar
1 Minsiter from FATA:
1. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi
Here I have a question, that those who today are declaring Gen. Pervez Musharraf a traitor and the only accused to be tried under article 6, then why did they take oath from him then? Do they think that they enjoy an immunity from article 6 in the manner as if they have bathed in Ganges and Jamna.
Point No. 9:
Earlier when one or two demands were raised that Gen. Pervez Musharraf should be tried under article 6 of the constitution for high treason and hanged, I (Altaf Hussain) was the only student of politics in Pakistan who delivered a detailed lecture and proved with arguments that Gen. Pervez Musharraf alone cannot be tried under article 6.
And if at all Gen. Pervez Musharraf has to be tried, then all those who aided and abetted him, directly or indirectly will also have to be tried alongside him as accompanied. I (Altaf Hussain) have even then given a challenge to all the constitutional and legal experts of the country to hold a public debate on article 6 with me but nobody accepted the challenge. I even today standby my point of view on article 6 as I had stated earlier.
