Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of MQM, has said that the year 2014 could not only turn out to be a tough and challenging year for Pakistan, it could also be a “make or break” year for the country. Citing the challenges that the New Year could pose to Pakistan, Mr Altaf Hussain said that “I passionately appeal to all those forces that run Pakistan overtly and covertly that instead of repeating mistakes made in the past, please make decisions that are essential for country’s security, prosperity and implement on those decisions without wasting any moment. Any further delay in implementing decisions essential for the country might cause irreparable damage to the country”.
In a statement issued on Sunday night, Mr Hussain said “I hope and pray that the New Year would be a positive omen for the country. My prayers are always there for my country, however, I have carefully analyzed short and long-term national and international policies and have come up with an analysis that I would like to present before the nation, its intellectuals, its rulers and powerful covert forces”.
“My analysis suggests that the New Year could not only turn out to be a tough and challenging year for Pakistan, it could also be a ‘“make or break”’ year for the country”, added Mr Hussain.
“I passionately appeal to all those forces that run Pakistan overtly and covertly that, instead of repeating mistakes made in the past, please make decisions that are essential for country’s security, prosperity and implement on those decisions without any further delay. It is inevitable that we make right decisions and implement upon them as the country can no longer afford any mistakes and delays”, said Mr Altaf Hussain.
Mr Altaf Hussain concluded that he had presented his honest and sincere observations before the nation and its rulers. It is now up to them to decide whether they want to take the country towards prosperity, integrity and safe future or towards destruction and mayhem.
