MQM’s elders wing appeal SHC and EC to declare Local Government Ordinance null and void for being against the rights of the people

Members and In-charge of MQM’s elder’s wings have said in a joint statement that the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 is like snatching the mandate of the people living in urban Sindh. PPP and Sindh government’s sweet dreams of having their mayor in Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities of the Sindh would never be fulfilled on the basis of a black law. This law has damaged the beauty of democracy and has exposed the dictatorship mentality of PPP in its democratic term. They said that this amendment and gerrymandering has already been rejected by all the opposition parties of the province and are protesting against this dictatorial stance of PPP. The Sindh government has amended the local government act merely with numbers in the assembly and has attempted to take over devolution of power that has been rejected by the people of Sindh. PPP can bring such acts only on the basis of numbers but they will have no strength before people’s majority.
The members and the in-charge of elder’s wing appealed Sindh High Court and election commission of Pakistan to take notice of this black law and declare them null and void for being against the rights of the people.
