“Altaf Hussain is the symbol of minority rights in Pakistan who considers them equal citizens of Pakistan”, Dr. Khalid Maqbool said this while addressing participants of an event at ‘Nine Zero’ to mark Christmas Day.
A large number of men, women and children from the Christian Community participated in the event. MQM’s Rabita Committee members Haider Abbas Rizvi, Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, Saif Yar Khan, Amin-ul Haque, Paster Javed Anwar and members of the minority wing attended the event.
“At a time when Pakistani society has become intolerant, Mr. Hussain is a breath of fresh air in this suffocating environment. He has always talked about the rights of the oppressed minority communities. He has raised voiced for their rights from MQM’s platform in the parliament, “ Mr. Maqbool said.
“Mr. Hussain is the only leader in Pakistan who considers people from minority groups equal citizens of Pakistan. His modest home will emerge as the symbol of rights for the minorities. The struggle which has started from here will make them equal citizens of Pakistan in the coming days, “ Dr. Maqbool said.
Mr. Manohar lal, in-charge minority committee of MQM, also addressed the participants and thanks Mr. Hussain and MQM for their support to minorities.
