TRIPLE EXTRAJUDICIAL STYLE EXECUTION OF MQM WORKERS IN KARACHI

MQM COORDINATION COMMITTEE STRONGLY CONDEMNS AND DEMANDS OF THE CHIEF JUSTICE, PRESIDENT, PRIME MINISTER AND FEDERAL INTERIOR MINISTER TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE OFFICIALS RESPONSIBLE

The MQM Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the extrajudicial killings of three young men including two MQM workers. Late Monday it was reported that three tortured bodies have been found near Ansari Bridge on Super Highway Karachi under the jurisdiction of Gadap Police Station. They were killed by gunshot on their head. Two have now been identified as MQM workers Javed son of Dost Mohammad and Nauman son of Talib Ali of Qasba Aligarh and the third one has been identified as Saleem. It is to be noted that Javed and Nauman were arrested a few days ago and it was reported in the newspapers as well. The family of Nauman Ali had also filed a petition in the Sindh High Court.
The Coordination Committee said that the triple murder in extrajudicial style execution is a stark reminder of the 90s when similar incidents of abduction and extrajudicial executions of thousands of Mohajir youth were taking place. Till today not a single person responsible for those extrajudicial executions has been taken to task. The Coordination Committee reminded that dozens of MQM workers who were arrested during the current operation have gone missing and this horrific incident has terrified their families.
The Coordination Committee has appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take immediate notice of the triple extrajudicial execution, come to Karachi and investigate the matter so that the culprits responsible for this horrific act are brought to justice. They also demanded of the Chief Justice to immediately order the recovery of missing MQM workers from the illegal detention and save them from being extra-judicially murdered. The Coordination Committee also appealed to the President, Prime Minister and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to take notice and order a high level enquiry into the horrific triple extrajudicial style execution, arrest the officials responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.
