19th DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF AZEEM AHMED TARIQ OBSERVED BY MQM

The 19th death anniversary of the martyred Chairman of the MQM Azeem Ahmed Tariq was observed with reverence, and rich tributes were paid to the martyred chairman of the party. Fateha and recitation of the Holy Quran were offered in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad. Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar and members Shoaib Bukhari, Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Raza Haroon, Wasim Aftab and Iftakhar Randhawa, Salim Tajik, Mumtaz Anwar and office-bearers and different wings of the MQM attended the gathering. Special prayers were offered for Azeem Ahmed Tariq and other martyrs of the movement. Prayers were also offered for the good health and long life of MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN EXPRESSES GRIEF ON THE KILLING OF MQM WORKER AND SYMPATHIZER IN F B AREA CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE TERMS THE INCIDENT AN ATTEMPT TO IGNITE SECTARIAN STRIFE

KARACHI: 1ST MAY 2012:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his grief and sorrow on the brutal killings of an MQM worker and sympathizer of the Federal B Area Sector.

Zia Mehdi, worker of unit 144 of F B Area Sector of the MQM, and Ahsan Abbas who was a sympathizer, were attacked by armed assailants in Karimabad area and died as a result of bullet injuries. Junaid, another sympathizer of the MQM, was also injured in the attack.

Mr Hussain sympathized with the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He also prayed for the recovery and good health of Junaid.

The Co-ordination Committee of the MQM has also strongly condemned the brutal killings of the MQM worker and sympathizer and termed it a conspiracy to ignite sectarian strife in the city. The committee said that certain elements wanted to ignite sectarian strife in order to undermine peace in Karachi.

The Co-ordination Committee said that Zia Mehdi, Ahsan Abbas and Junaid were fired upon after ascertaining their identity when they were returning from their office situated in Nazimabad.

The Co-ordination Committee offered condolences to the families of Zia Mehdi, and Ahsan Abbas prayed Almighty Allah to give courage and patience to the bereaved families to bear the loss.

The Co-ordination Committee also demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the killings of Zia Mehdi and Ahsan Abbas and said that the perpetrators should be given exemplary punishment.

Funeral of Zia Mehdi and Ahsan Abbas was held in Ancholi Imambargah, and they were laid to rest in Wadiy-e-Hussain graveyard on Super Highway. Funeral was attended by provincial minister Khalid Umer, MPA Imamuddin Shahzad, members of the Karachi Tanzeemi Committee of the MQM, and workers and office-bearers of MQM Federal B Area Sector.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN CONDEMNS QUETTA BLAST

EXPRESSES CONCERNS ON THE RISING NUMBER OF INCIDENTS OF TERRORISM IN QUETTA

LONDON: 1st May 2012:

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the bomb explosion near Irrigation Colony on Saryab road, Quetta resulting in the death of two persons and serious injuries to many others.

Mr Hussain, expressed his concerns on the rising incidents of terrorism in Quetta and said that the elements behind the terrorist incidents were not even worthy of being called humans let alone Muslims. He prayed Almighty Allah to rest the persons killed in the bomb blast in eternal peace.

Mr Hussain demanded of President Mr Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mr Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Interior Minister Mr Rehman Malik and Chief Minister Balochistan Mr Aslam Raisani to take serious notice of the incident and bring the perpetrators to book.  He also demanded of taking solid steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
