Haq Parast Senators demands new Chief Justice of Pakistan for the recovery of the missing party workers
Posted on: 12/14/2013
The Haq Parast members of Senate have extended heartiest felicitation Mr Tasaduq Hussain Jilliani to take oath as new Chief Justice of Pakistan and made heartfelt appeal to them take effective and practical steps for the recovery of the MQM missing workers who went missing soon after their arrest by the law enforcement agencies.
They demanded him to take stern notice of the missing workers and provide justice to them.
In their joint statement the Haq Parast Senators said that during the state operation of 1992 against MQM the personals of the law enforcement agencies abducted 28 MQM workers in the presence of their family members and their where abouts are still uncertain and it is not even sure if they are alive or dead.
They said that likewise during targeted operation of 2013 the personals of law enforcement agencies arrested 40 workers of MQM in the presence of their family members and area people and their arrest is not even being shown yet, which has inflicted their family members in severe mental torture.
The Senators said that MQM is the third largest political party of the country whose elected representatives are present in all the parliaments of the country but the discriminative treatment of law enforcement agencies towards MQM is not a matter to ponder over but a very coercive act, which is quite deplorable.
The senators said that MQM is a democratic party which is practically struggling for the rights of the subjugated class within the framework of the law and constitution of the country, and has been filing petitions in the apex courts of the country for the recovery of its missing workers.
The senators said that if any of MQM workers is wanted to the law enforcement agencies then they should be produced before the courts according to the law and constitution of the country instead of executing them in extra judiciary fashion, which is an open violation of the human rights, constitution and law of the country.
The senators said that the suo motto action by the ex Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudry to hear and take up the cases of missing persons had created a ray of hope for the recovery of party missing workers.
The senators said that after the retirement of the ex Chief Justice of Pakistan MQM is now looking towards the new Chief Justice of Pakistan with a hope to provide justice to the families of the missing workers.
