Pakistan is a self-governing and free country, and its official title is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. However, does it really seem to be an Islamic country? In truth, throughout the entire government, from top leaders to ordinary citizens, dishonesty, deception, hypocrisy, stealing, fraud, and bad behavior are common. If this is the case, then what kind of honest, clear, and untainted Pakistan are we discussing?
If the judicial system in Pakistan was genuinely autonomous, the six judges from the Islamabad High Court would not have sent a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court saying that they could not make fair decisions. They mentioned that they were being pressured to decide certain cases in specific ways and to avoid ruling on others. This reflects the condition of the legal system in Pakistan, yet we proudly sing “Pak Sarzameen Shad Bad” and shout “Pakistan Zindabad.”
Under the country’s Constitution, the Election Commission of Pakistan is responsible for organizing elections for the lawmakers in a clear and fair way. However, do genuine and clear elections really happen in Pakistan? In this scenario, the winners of the elections often end up being seen as losers, while those who do not win are announced as the victors.
My question is; Is there a true democracy in Pakistan? Are the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan genuinely in control?
Citizens in Pakistan lack safety for their lives and belongings. Senior citizens, women, and young individuals who go out are often targeted by thieves on motorcycles, who grab their mobile phones, wallets, and money before escaping.
The youth, feeling hopeless due to joblessness, embark on perilous trips from Pakistan to other nations by boat in pursuit of work. A lot of these boats capsize, leading to tragic losses of life. They are forced to take such risks because they need food to live, but they do not have the funds to buy it.
People are not foolish enough to endanger their lives by taking a boat to other countries. They make this journey because they face hunger, lack of money, and no jobs.
Even with these harsh truths, I want to pose a crucial question to those who shout “Long Live Pakistan”: If countries like the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, and others were to say that any Pakistani who wants to relocate there with their family would get citizenship before they even arrive, how many Pakistanis would turn down that chance and prefer to stay in Pakistan?
An unbiased evaluation would indicate that if these nations presented such a deal, very few young Pakistanis would opt to stay in Pakistan.
In each city throughout Pakistan, individuals are stripped of their rights and fair treatment, and there’s no one available to hear their concerns. Due to these situations, everyone has come to the realization that this is a land filled with thieves, corrupt individuals who take bribes, sly and dishonest people, robbers, smugglers, landowners, feudal leaders, and tribal heads. Here, laws apply to the underprivileged, but they seldom act against the rich. On the contrary, the influential are typically given protection.
I am from Sindh, so I will talk only about Sindh. How many young, innocent lives have been lost in Karachi due to the wealthy landowners and waderas associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party and their families? Still, they have escaped punishment, and even with all the proof available, they have been set free. No one can argue against these facts.
It was this corrupt and old-fashioned system that I criticized as “Murdabad,” but my statements were interpreted differently.
It is essential right now to enhance the country's system, ensure that citizens receive their entitlements, and deliver justice to them.
