When violence and power take over a nation, and individuals are harmed for asking for their rights and fairness, how can we say “ Long Live” ? Altaf Hussain #RightsMovementAJK The nation is controlled by power and fear. People who ask for their rights and fairness are being murdered. Courts are also restricted, judges are facing threats, and justice is being suppressed. 98% of the population lacks not just their rights, but also essential resources like water, electricity, gas, and other basic needs. In this situation, how can we shout out "Long Live"? Half of the nation has already split due to unfair treatment and wrongdoing. In the rest of the nation, there is chaos everywhere. People are experiencing hardship and lack of basic needs. All the mistreated groups are speaking out for their rights. Demonstrations are happening throughout the country, but instead of hearing their complaints, authorities are responding with gunfire, using clubs against them, filing false charges, and locking people up and punishing them. Can we really praise and say "Long Live" leaders and a system that continues to deny rights to the oppressed, take the lives of those seeking justice, imprison them, and make them disappear against their will? For 78 years, the Baloch people have reportedly faced killings, oppression, and forced disappearances just for standing up for their rights. , a Baloch woman, along with other mothers and sisters from the community, started a peaceful campaign to find those who went missing. However, she was supposedly attacked, taken into custody, and later given a life sentence in what many consider a false accusation. When the Muhajirs fought for their rights, military actions were taken against them, and their political party, the MQM, faced restrictions on its activities. Similarly, when the Pashtuns demanded their rights, their movement, known as the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, was violently silenced, and its leader, Ali Wazir, spent a long time in jail. Pashtun regions have also been affected by drone strikes. Azad Kashmir, which was an independent region during the division of the subcontinent, has had its citizens standing up for their rights and the ability to govern themselves. The Kashmir Joint Action Committee started a peaceful campaign, but this report mentions that violence has been directed at demonstrators, guns have been fired, and leaders have been accused of being foreign spies and enemies of the country. The groups that campaigned for many years for the freedom of #Kashmir and gathered support from Kashmiris are now missing. It is claimed that the government has taken steps to eliminate anyone who opposes its actions. When questioned the government's policies, it is said that his administration was taken down through a plot. He was taken into custody and sentenced in what are called false cases. Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi , and other leaders have been kept in jail for many years. When the Islamabad High Court started looking at these cases, it seems that military officials put pressure on the judges. Allegedly, judges and their families were threatened. Six judges from the Islamabad High Court together sent a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, stating that they faced intimidation, being watched, and interference. This letter mentioned that after two years, these judges still did not receive justice and were instead moved from the Islamabad High Court to different courts. If even judges from the High Court are unable to find justice, and if the Supreme Court seems weak, where can regular people turn for justice against the wrongdoings of those in power? When force governs the state, when higher courts are influenced by pressure, when judges themselves cannot find justice, and when the whole system operates through intimidation, how can this system be considered as deserving of support?
The military exists to protect the nation and should be respected, but it must stick to its duties and not get involved in politics or civilian issues. Sadly, the military in #Pakistan is often claimed to be meddling in political matters and affecting government operations and legal decisions. Both retired and active military personnel are said to be placed in civilian roles they are not trained for. This approach, as noted, implies that civilians cannot manage, which is seen as damaging. Thus, I urge the citizens of Pakistan to liberate the country from what I see as the unnecessary sway of the military and to guide Pakistan towards democracy, well-being, and progress. For 79 years, the people of Pakistan are believed to have been taught a false version of history. It is said that religion was used to dissuade individuals from fighting for their rights and to keep them loyal to the existing order. However, today’s young Generation Z is informed, forward-thinking, and values learning and investigation. They know how to advocate for their rights, and, if fate permits, they will challenge the current system and help the country attain real freedom. Altaf Hussain. London.
