LONDON. [UK] - April 9: Mr Altaf Hussain, the Founding Leader and the Supremo of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has expressed strong disapproval of Israel’s military actions against Lebanon and Iran.
While speaking to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, he pointed out that it had been less than 24 hours since a two-week truce was agreed upon between the United States and Iran, when Israel launched a serious attack on Lebanon on April 8, 2026, using fighter jets and missiles.
He asked why Israel also chose to carry out a drone strike on Iran and why it so openly disregarded the truce.
Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif, in your post on X yesterday, you explained the ceasefire clearly, saying that no kind of attacks would happen anywhere during the two-week timeframe. You specifically pointed out Lebanon in your statement.
Now that Israel has made several attacks on Lebanon, causing over 250 deaths and many injuries, and has also carried out a drone attack on Iran, it is now your duty, both legally and morally, to respond to the world.
He added that he is sharing the complete text of the Prime Minister’s
statement, where Lebanon was clearly mentioned in the ceasefire conditions.
Considering your own words, what do you have to say to the people of Pakistan and those who want peace worldwide about Israel’s obvious breach of the ceasefire?
The international community is waiting for your reply.
Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, your remarks about the breach of the ceasefire are not acceptable to those who support peace globally, as they fail to clearly identify Israel as the only nation responsible for this violation.
I wonder why you didn't mention the country that broke the ceasefire.
People around the world are looking for a straightforward response from you.
I firmly denounce Israel for breaking the ceasefire with its attack on Lebanon, which led to the deaths of over 250 innocent people and wounded many others.
I offer my sincere sympathies to the Lebanese people in light of this heartbreaking situation.
