Co-ordination Committee condemns arrests of workers of MQM Surjani Sector

The Co-ordination Committee of MQM has condemned the arrests of workers of Surjani Sector Awais s/o Hanif and Nawaz s/o Hanif and his father. They also strongly condemned the raids on the houses of their workers belonging to North Nazimabad sector and ransacking of their houses.
In a statement the committee said, “Hundreds of MQM workers and office-bearers have been arrested since the beginning of targeted operation in Karachi. Many have been killed extra-judicially and some of them are not traceable.”
“MQM wants peace and stability in Karachi. That’s why it has not resorted to protest demonstrations despite the raids, arrests and detention of its workers and office bearers. MQM is struggling for the sectarian harmony across the country and it is cooperating with the government, administration and law enforcement agencies in this regard” the committee said.
The Co-ordination Committee deplored that despite MQM’s co-operation and support to the government MQM’s workers and office bearers were being arrested.
The committee demanded immediate release of MQM Surjani Town Sector’s Awais s/o Hanif and Nawaz s/o Hanif and his father and stoppage of raids and detention of innocent people. They also demanded that the government should help in the recovery of the missing workers.
