Altaf strongly
Condemns Attack, Urges Peace, Unity in Wake of Kashmir Violence
LONDON.
[UK]. April 23: Pakistani political leader Mr Altaf Hussain has denounced the
Pahalgam terrorist attack strongly since it resulted in more than 26
casualties. During the attack terrorists struck both the religious pilgrims and
tourists visiting Hindu temples as well as military personnel at the site.
Mr Altaf
Hussain spoke out against the terrorist act through a statement during the 244th
study circle broadcast on TikTok describing it as a “despicable act of
terrorism” while showing sympathy for those who died and their relatives. The
incident would generate significant effects both for those who perpetrated the
crime as well as for stability throughout the region according to his warning.
Such
appalling actions require total disapproval because they amount to severe
violations of criminal law according to Mr Hussain. Existent media accounts
show that killers acquired private details before and after their killings
which revealed the severe magnitude of the crime, said the MQM supremo, adding
that Indian citizens together with analysts reacted to the attack by expressing
nationwide grief and anger against Pakistan because they suspected the
attackers entered from across the border. Political circles in India have
escalated tensions toward Pakistan through calls for retribution after this
incident.
Mr Hussain
cautioned Pakistan and India about vengeance-driven storytelling because he
believed both nations should prefer peaceful methods. He strongly opposes the
formation of any military conflict or tensions between India and Pakistan.
Peace and stability together with prosperity must dominate the region because
both nations should maintain peaceful neighbour relations based on mutual
respect.
His
statement aimed at Pakistan’s senior military leaders such as Chief of Army
Staff General Hafiz Asim Munir and DG ISI and all Corps and Operational
Commanders mentioned a recent Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad.
General
Munir reinforced the Two-Nation Theory at this convention by establishing
fundamental differences between Hindu and Muslim nationalities.
Mr Altaf
Hussain expressed his concern about this kind of language through highlighting
peaceful relations between Hindu and Muslim communities in India.
He warned
that using such descriptions would increase local and communal conflicts.
During his speech General Qamar Bajwa received criticism from Hussain for a
reported 2019 silent agreement with India that granted Jammu and Kashmir
sovereignty to India and established a ten-year military compromise.
Mr Hussain
stated that the Indian government's cancellation of Article 370 in 2019 marked
the point where Pakistan lost its essential life force because he wondered why
no defence was initiated during that period. The Indian annexation of Kashmir
along with its severance of Pakistan's vital lines remained unanswered by
Pakistan, Mr Hussain asked.
The
Pakistani population needs urgent national unity according to Altaf Hussain who
demands that both civilian and military leadership take proactive steps to
build bridges with the public and stabilize Pakistan.
The leader
requested release for political figures and founder of PTI Mr Imran Khan among
others and emphasized that Pakistan required a combined political force to
defend against possible international threats. As part of his demands Mr Hussain
required a complete investigation to reveal all facts about the Pahalgam
attack.
Mr Hussain
declared that public punishment should be given to if any Pakistani citizen
found involved but the state of Pakistan must not bear responsibility for
individual action.
The founder
of the MQM concluded by urging nuclear-armed states to stop their hostile
attitude and declaring that conflict leads to simultaneous destruction for the
two countries. Our destiny needs to be steered by peace and mutual
understanding toward the future. The future success of both India and
Pakistan’s populations is possible when peaceful relationships abound.
