ALTAF HUSSAIN WRITES TO GENERAL ASIM MUNIR, THE CHIEF OF PAKISTAN ARMY
…………………………………………………………….
Respected Chief of Army Staff General Hafiz Asim Munir,
I have reiterated this many times before, and on this sacred occasion of #Ramadan , I once again emphasize that while every political party in #Pakistan may have flaws or weaknesses, none can be against the country’s survival and security.
Whenever any political party in Pakistan has faced oppression and persecution, its members, in their frustration, may have expressed their anger in strong words. However, once conditions improve, they move forward and continue their political journey.
Some believe that my speeches were banned after August 22, 2016. I wish to clarify that the Lahore High Court had imposed a ban on my speeches, writings, photographs, and even the mention of my name as early as September 7, 2015—a ban that remains in effect to this day.
Dear General Asim Munir!
I am not against anyone. However, I strongly oppose any actions that violate the constitution and the law, based purely on principles.
Pakistan has long faced internal and external threats, but I foresee an even greater danger following the U.S. President
’s announcement that America will establish a military base at Bagram Airbase in #Afghanistan and reclaim the weapons left behind during its withdrawal. I believe this will significantly worsen the situation along Pakistan’s borders. In the future, Pakistan will be subjected to greater demands, which could lead to increased instability and bloodshed.
Dear General Asim Munir!
Given the grave challenges confronting Pakistan, I urge you to allow all political parties with genuine public support whether it is
’s PTI or my MQM to freely operate. The headquarters of MQM have been sealed for the past nine years, along with all its offices. Our political activities remain banned. I request that these restrictions be lifted and that all political detainees, including those from
and
, be released immediately.
Dear General Asim Munir!
In this holy month of Ramadan, I implore you to make a historic decision that enables representatives of Pakistan’s genuine political parties to freely engage with their people and continue their political activities. Hold elections under your supervision. Believe me when I say that we are not against Pakistan. We are not enemies of Pakistan. We are still willing to make sacrifices for our nation.
If Pakistan ever faces a critical situation, I pledge to present 100,000 dedicated workers to defend the country. If necessary, I am personally ready to step forward as well.
Dear General Asim Munir!
To save Pakistan, we must let go of past grievances and move forward with a renewed resolve. If we continue to criticize one another and brand certain groups as outcasts, it will not serve the country’s best interests. A nation does not prosper through internal conflict—it only weakens.
Dear General Asim Munir!
With sincerity and pure intentions, I have conveyed to you a message of truth and righteousness. Allah has entrusted you with immense power. If that power is used for the betterment of the country, Pakistan could benefit in ways beyond imagination.
With deep gratitude,
ALTAF HUSSAIN
