I respectfully urge the military leadership to recognise the alarming reality that attacks on soldiers and military installations are occurring daily across the country. Regrettably, instead of prioritising the nation’s defense, high-ranking officials in the armed forces appear engrossed in political maneuvering. Meanwhile, serving and retired generals, as well as senior officers, are being persistently assigned to civilian institutions rather than focusing on their crucial responsibilities for national security, a trend that poses a severe threat to the country's stability and survival.
I strongly urge all responsible figures in the armed forces to immediately announce the return of the military to its constitutional boundaries as soon as possible.
Public resentment against the military is growing alarmingly due to its involvement in politics and interference in civilian affairs. Therefore, the military must now permanently pledge never to participate in politics and civil matters again.
I also demand that solid and effective steps be taken immediately to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted employees of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. Additionally, all missing and detained political leaders and workers should be released without delay.
These positive measures by the military can foster goodwill and positive sentiments among the public towards the armed forces.
Sincerely,
ALTAF HUSSAIN.
