GENERAL FAIZ HAMEED JUST A BAIT; IMRAN KHAN IS THE TARGET
………………………………………………..
#یوم_شہداء_9_دسمبر
Under the next phase of the Field General Court Martial process, former ISI Chief General (Retd.) Faiz Hameed has officially been charge-sheeted today. Among other charges, he has been accused of involvement in political affairs.
Following this formal charge sheet against General Faiz Hameed, it seems likely that Pakistan's former Prime Minister and a significant public leader,
, will also be implicated, and action might be taken against him under the Court Martial Act.
General Faiz Hameed is merely a bait to catch the giant Imran Khan.
If court-martialing General Faiz Hameed for political involvement is justified, then I must question the blatant interference by the military in the general elections held on February 8, 2024. The military manipulated the election results by defeating PTI candidates who had won by a large margin and ensuring the success of candidates from the PML-N and PPP through rigging. Even Nawaz Sharif, head of the PML-N, who had lost to PTI’s Dr Yasmin Rashid, was declared the winner under Form 47. If altering election results and declaring defeated candidates victorious is not interference in politics, then what the hell it is?
If #GeneralFaiz Hameed can be court-martialed for meddling in politics, then the generals, brigadiers, and colonels who took over ROs' offices during the February 8 elections and forcibly changed the election results should also face court-martial proceedings.
All attempts to intimidate and suppress Imran Khan have failed, and now he is being dragged into this court-martial affair.
I urge
workers to begin preparations for peaceful protests before Imran Khan is taken from Adiala Jail and placed under military custody. They should pressure PTI leadership for action and fully boycott military products. Using products of an institution that shoots at and kills its own citizens is not only against the nation but also forbidden in Islam. The public must boycott military products to such an extent that the owners of military companies are unable to even pay their employees' salaries.
If PTI workers fail to grasp the gravity of the situation, they will not even have the opportunity to regret it later.
Military officers and soldiers take an oath after completing their training that they will not engage in politics and will not obey any orders that go against the Constitution and the law. Then why, on November 26, under the leadership of Army Chief General Asim Munir, did the army, corps commanders, and operational commanders comply with the illegal actions of the current government, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, to crush PTI's peaceful protest in Islamabad?
Why did the military fire bullets at its own people?
Why were innocent, unarmed civilians gunned down?
On November 24, in response to Imran Khan's call for legitimate demands, millions of people came out to protest. By November 26, 2024, D-Chowk #Islamabad was filled with PTI’s peaceful protesters. Suddenly, during the night, the area’s lights were turned off. Expert snipers positioned on buildings began targeting peaceful protesters with precision. Hundreds of vehicles were vandalised, and by the next morning, all the torched vehicles had vanished from the scene. To this day, no one has provided answers regarding the disappearance of 200 PTI protesters.
Government ministers continue to shamelessly claim that no bullets were fired in Islamabad on November 26 and no one was killed.
I fail to understand why
leadership has not yet filed an FIR for the massacre on November 26. If the police refuse to register the FIR, why haven’t PTI leaders and lawyers filed petitions in the High Court or Supreme Court for its registration?
In #Pakistan, even peaceful protests, Quran recitations, and prayers for the departed souls have been criminalised.
On December 9, during MQM’s “Martyrs’ Day,” when families and loyal supporters gathered in Karachi and Hyderabad to visit martyrs’ memorials and cemeteries, holding Qurans and chanting prayers, the PPP-led government used Rangers and Police for brutal actions.
Many
workers were arrested, a gross injustice deserving strong condemnation.
I ask, is peaceful protest a crime under Pakistan’s Constitution?
If not, why did the police and paramilitary Rangers comply with the Sindh government’s illegal orders?
We regret that TV channels, claiming to uphold press freedom, neither broadcast the videos of the firing and shelling on peaceful protesters at D-Chowk nor showed the state violence against MQM workers and citizens on “Martyrs’ Day” in #Karachi and Hyderabad.
However, some YouTubers uploaded videos of the atrocities, and I thank them for their efforts.
I express my gratitude to human rights activists like
,
, Defense of Human Rights
Chairperson
Baloch Voice for Justice
, and journalists who condemned the restrictions and arrests on prayers for the deceased via social media platforms like X.
I also appeal to journalists, anchors, and YouTubers from Punjab to condemn the state oppression inflicted upon MQM workers and the public in Karachi and Hyderabad on “Martyrs’ Day.”
