Some
Questions for Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir : Altaf Hussain
London: May 2, 2024
During the passing out parade of the Pakistan Air Force, the
esteemed Chief of Army Staff General Hafiz Asim Munir emphasized, "We are
fully cognizant of our constitutional boundaries and anticipate others to
respect the constitution as well."
I have a few inquiries for General Munir:
Is it within the rights of the armed forces of Pakistan to
engage in actions like enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings,
intrusive surveillance through home cameras, coercion of judges, abduction of
family members for violent purposes, election manipulation, and coercion of
political allegiance shifts? Additionally, what constitutional provisions
govern these activities, especially involving attacks on law enforcement,
mistreatment of officers, violence against journalists, establishment of business
empires, industrial zones, and defence housing authorities through displacement
of underprivileged settlements?
