CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE TERMS THE ATTACK AN ACT OF NAKED TERRORISM
LONDON: Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the attack with hand grenades on a fish shop on Jamshed Road by armed terrorists. He said that the terrorists were openly demanding extortion money from shopkeepers and business persons in Karachi and attacking business centres and shops with hand grenades if their demands were not met. He said it was a matter of disbelief and great concern for the citizens that no action was being taken by police and other law-enforcing agencies against these terrorists.
Mr Hussain questioned Chief Minister Sind Syed Qaim Ali Shah and high officials of the Sindh government why nothing was being done to protect the life and property of citizens despite astronomical expenses incurred for maintaining law and order. He said that it was the foremost duty of the government to protect its citizens. He demanded of the government to arrest the terrorists behind the attack on the fish shop on Jamshed Road and take stern action against criminal elements.
The Co-ordination Committee of the MQM has also denounced the attack on the fish shop and said that the public was well-aware of the elements that use grenades and rocket launchers to achieve their vicious objectives. These criminal elements use terrorism as a tool against shopkeepers and business persons for demanding huge extortion money.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the attack on the fish shop was an act of naked terrorism and sympathised with the people injured in the attack.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded of Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take serious notice of the incident and move against the terrorist elements involved in it.
