Calling Hakimullah Mehsud a martyr by JI leader Munawer Hassan is against the teachings of Islam: Altaf Hussain

Can the killer of officers and men of armed forces and police and innocent people be termed a martyr?
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned JI leader Munawer Hassan for calling the TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud a martyr who was killed in a drone attack. He said that a statement issued by JI chief Munawer Hassan declaring Hakimullah Mehsud was carried by print and electronic media.
Mr Hussain said that everyone in Pakistan knew that the Taliban had killed over seven thousand officers and men of armed forces and police and slaughtered over forty thousand innocent persons. They had also killed prominent religious scholars. The Taliban had also targeted mosques, imam bargahs, churches, shrines of holy saints and girls’ schools. They also attacked important defence installations.
Mr Hussain asked the religious scholars as to how bloodthirsty killer of innocent people could be called a martyr. He asked if someone responsible for suicide attacks on mosques, imam bargahs, shrines, places of worship of other religions and defence installations could be called a martyr. He asked if someone targeting the Muslims offering prayer in mosques could be declared a martyr.
Mr Hussain asked if someone responsible for bombing gatherings of Friday prayers, Tarawih prayers, Eid prayer and even funeral prayer be called a martyr. He said if the killers of thousands of innocent people would be called a martyr then what would be the status of the over fifty thousand people killed by them.
Mr Hussain asked if it would be conformable to Islamic teachings to declare both the killers and the killed as martyrs. He said that terming the Taliban chief a martyr by the JI leader was totally against the teachings of Islam and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Mr Hussain said that declaring the killer of thousands of innocent people a martyr was the same as equating the followers of Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) and Yazeed. He appealed to religious scholars to break their silence and raise their voice against the elements speaking against the Islamic traditions and teachings. He said that if they failed to raise their voice they would be considered equally guilty.
