Baloch woman, 2 sons assassinated in land owner's private prison
LONDON February 24. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement's - or - MQM supremo
Altaf Hussain has severely condemned the brutal custodial assassination of a
Baloch woman along with two sons in a private prison owned and run by a Baloch
feudal lord Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran in Barkhan area of Balochistan.
Their dead bodies were recovered from a well near Barkhan in
Balochistan. The bodies were taken to hospital, where they were identified as
Granaaz Marri and her two sons Mohammad Nawaz and Abdul Qadir.
"I strongly condemn the brutal killing of a Baloch woman and her
two daughters." "The victims were imprisoned by Baloch Sardar in his
private jail."
He said that the prison is a parallel system of prisons widely spread
across tribal lands in Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. As well, the
custodial assassinations portray a true picture of the tyrant era of pharaoh.
The assassin Baloch Sardar has committed a heinous crimes against the
humanity. He should be taken to task without fail as his crime in unpardonable.
He is a minister in Balochistan provincial government and enjoys close
relations with country's military.
The Baloch Sardar had allegedly held the fateful in captivity for a long
time and finally assassinated them brutally.
He said that the assassinations in captivity of an oppressed woman and
her daughters in a private prison, is not only very sad, but it is the worst
example of the cruel system and brutality prevailing in the country.
While lambasting the ghoulish nexus of corrupt army generals, elites and
tribal chiefs, he termed the menace as disastrous for humanity.
The international rights organisations must not wait for the cloudy
explanations but gear up efforts for bringing the perpetrator to the justice
box, he demanded.
He said that the existence of private jails of land owners and tribal
chiefs in the presence of the army in nook and cranny, where innocent poor
farmers, labourers and farmers along with their wives, children and daughters
are imprisoned and brutally murdered for raising a voice for rights and
justice.
He was of the view that if the unconstitutional, illegal, brutal and
oppressive actions of the army and the Inter-Services Intelligence - or - ISI
are not stopped forthwith, this illegal act of the army will further divide the
country.
Without the accountability of the corrupt generals who have become
billionaires through corruption, any kind of accountability process and the
existence of the country's courts are meaningless, he said, adding that the
people of Pakistan must unite and raise their voices against the extrajudicial
killing of innocent citizens, the enforced disappearance of innocent citizens,
brutal torture in military's safe houses and the interference of the army in
every section of the country.
Silence over such inhuman acts will prove fatal for the country, said
the MQM supremo.
