Senate resolution on Reko Diq an act
of absolute usurpation: Altaf Hussain
LONDON. December 14, 2022:
Founder and leader of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain has
strongly condemned the resolution passed by the Senate of Pakistan and the
decision of the federal government about the Reko Diq project.
He has termed it an act of absolute usurpation of
the wealth of Balochistan.
In his statement, the MQM supremo Mr Hussain said
that the Senate of Pakistan passed a dictatorial resolution according to which
the Reko Diq deposits and other mineral resources in Balochistan have been
given to the federal ownership.
"It would have been far better to abolish the
so-called provincial status of Balochistan and declare it a colony of
Federation", he deplored.
He said that the people of Balochistan had been
shocked and they have lamented on that resolution alone.
He was of the view that the resolution thus passed
was a new conspiracy to tarnish the state of united Pakistan.
He strongly opposed such a dictatorial move and
condemned it vehemently.
The MQM founder and leader Mr Hussain said that
this so-called resolution was just an act for occupying the natural resources
in Balochistan.
He further said that the resolution shall prove to
be a prelude to the conspiracy to dissect Pakistan.
He demanded the resolution and the decision of the
federal government should be withdrawn forthwith.
He said that it was so astonishing that the Supreme
Court of Pakistan had revoked the Reko Diq deal recently terming it unlawful
but the same apex court had now validated the agreement of Reko Diq with a
Canadian firm. Thus, the apex court poured acid on open wounds of the oppressed
people of Balochistan quite tyrantly.
The MQM supremo Mr Hussain declared the resolution
an open act of oppression and plunder of the rights of the people of
Balochistan.
"I firmly stand with the people of Balochistan
against this tyranny", vowed the MQM supremo.
