Former member of the coordination committee of MQM, former member of national and provincial assembly and former provincial minister Nisar Ahmed Panhwar was released on Monday night after 42 days illegal captive.
It is learned that Nisar Panhwar had filed a constitutional petition in the Sindh High Court on August 27, 2022, against the unconstitutional and illegal ban on broadcasting and speeches of MQM founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain. Rangers arrested him from his house in Saadi Town area of Karachi on 29th August 2022.
Against the arrest and forced disappearance of Nisar Panhwar, his son had also filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against keeping him in custody, the hearing of which was postponed till October 13, 2022. During this time, Nisar Panhwar was not presented before any court nor was his family told where he is and on what charges he has been arrested. Mr. Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of MQM, raised his voice many times in his speech and video dialogue, and made demands in tweets for the recovery of Nisar Panhwar.
The coordination committee and overseas units of MQM demanded their release in their briefing. Apart from this, peaceful protests were also held by MQM in Britain, America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, France, Germany and other overseas units and petitions were also submitted to human rights organizations in this regard. Apart from MQM, human rights organizations also raised their voice for their release. Finally, after 42 days of illegal detention and forced disappearance, Nisar Panhwar was released on the night of Monday, October 10, and he has reached home safely.
Meanwhile, the Coordinating Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement congratulated from Mr. Altaf Hussain to the Nisar Panhwar and his family on his release and paid tribute to him for his steadfastness and courage. The coordination committee also congratulated all the workers and sympathizers on the release of Nisar Panhwar.
