Demolition of legal houses under the guise of illegal houses in the vicinity of Gujar Nala Liaqutabad and Orangi Town Nala is reprehensible. Altaf Hussain
There are illegal settlements in many areas of the city but no action has ever been taken against these illegal occupants
The demolition of legal houses under the guise of encroachments should be stopped, alternative accommodation should be provided to the victims and their losses should be compensated.

MQM founder & leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the demolition of legal houses by the Sindh government under the guise of illegal houses around Gujar Naala Liaquatabad and Orangi Town Nala In a statement, he said that under the guise of eliminating encroachments of Gujar nala in Liaqutabad and Orangi Town Nala, legal and leased houses established on both sides of the drain are being demolished.
On the other hand there are illegal settlements which have been established by illegal occupants but no action has ever been taken against these illegal occupants.
Mr. Altaf Hussain said that in order to end the encroachments from Gujar Nala the government had earlier announced that the houses of those demolished, alternative houses would be provided to them but now the government has backtracked on its own announcements and are demolishing the legal houses in these areas. The roof is being snatched from their heads and they are not being provided alternative accommodation.
Mr. Altaf Hussain expressed full sympathy and solidarity with the affected residents of Liaquatabad and Orangi Town and demanded from the government to stop the demolition of legal houses under the guise of encroachment, provide alternative accommodation to the victims immediately and compensate the victims.
