Dr Imran Farooq was asset of MQM. Enemies inflicted damage through his assassination; says Altaf Hussain

Muttahidda Qaumi Movement's (MQM) founder and leader Altaf Hussain has said that the slain Dr Imran Farooq was asset of MQM.
During the 1992 state operation, the army announced a bounty on his head. He remained in hiding for seven years and remained steadfast.
He expressed these views in his keynote address in condemnation of military operation in June 1992 against Mohajirs.He said that the trial of the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq was held in the court of Islamabad during which the accused testified before the magistrate that they deviated from their previous statements in the court and he himself told the court that his statements were forcibly taken from him. However, the anti-terrorism court in Islamabad convicted the accused and the court's verdict surprisingly said without any evidence that the killing was ordered by Altaf Hussain. He said it was part of a larger conspiracy against him. Because all the workers of the movement know very well that if he loved anyone in the party more than any, he was Dr Farooq.
The MQM founder and leader Hussain said that the establishment of Pakistan might kill him by implicating him in fabricated cases through conspiracy but he will not bow down to the forces of oppression.Referring to the 1992 military operation, Hussain said that none of the outside force could eliminate the MQM. If this movement is weakened, it is from within and that is what has happened.
Afaq Ahmed and Aamir Khan, who were senior leaders of the movement, squandered their conscience at the hands of government agencies and began to seduce the workers of the movement against the leadership, persuading them not to weaken the movement but they did not understand. Therefore, he was expelled from the movement when he became an agent of government agencies. They formed a Haqiqi group at the behest of the army. The army had prepared a drama to launch a military operation against the MQM and the nation was told that the operation was to be carried out in Sindh against dacoits, landlords, who had committed kidnappings for ransom.
They had also compiled a list of 72 large fish. But, Allah Almighty spoke in his heart and he informed the nation that the army was deceiving us. This operation will not be against the bandits, kidnappers for ransom but against the MQM. Eventually, the fears came true. Under the plan, the army first trained the Haquiqi terrorists in military barracks and then on June 19, 1992, brought them in military trucks to Karachi and through them attacked the offices of MQM and the homes of leaders and workers, martyring several comrades and MQM offices were seized.
He said it was the Haqiqi terrorists, who identified the MQM people and helped military to arrest them and remained a part of the military operation against the MQM.
He said that if the Haqiqi terrorists did not support the oppressive military against the people of their own nation and were not part of this military operation, the army or anyone else would not have dared to carry out an operation against MQM.
Mr.Hussain said that today is June 19. The judicial operation against MQM was launched 28 years ago and is still going on today.Asif Pasha, former in-charge of MQM's defense sector, who was arrested by paramilitary Rangers on February 22, 2019, was shot dead two days ago and his body dumped in the bushes near the superhighway, he deplored, adding that similarly, Niaz Lashari, a leader of JSQM (Ariser Group) was also extrajudicially killed two days ago and his body was dumped in Gulshan-e Hadid area.
He said that Ghulam Ishaq Khan was the President of the country and Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister at the time of the 1992 military operation started.…
