The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has expressed it sconcerns on the abduction of businessman and demanded from the government to recover the kidnapped persons immediately. The committee said that notice should be taken of the demonstration held by the members of the business community on M A Jinnah road.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the extortion mafia was collecting anddemanding huge amount of money from business persons who were threatened with dire consequences if their demands were not met. The gravity of the situation can be judged from the fact that hand grenades were being thrown at the shopswhose owners had refused to pay the extortion money. This was also an indicative of the poor performance of the law-enforcing agencies and brazen assurance of the terrorists.
