Founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that international experts should be called to investigate the death of JSQM chairman Bashir Qureshi. He said this while talking to JSQM leader Dr Niaz Kalani on telephone.
Dr Kalani said that the medical board examining the chemical samples obtained from the body of Bashir Qureshi had also confirmed the cause of death as poisoning. He said that the investigations should be done by international experts and sought support from Mr Hussain in this regard.
Mr Hussain supported the JSQM demand and said that foreign experts should be called to investigate the cause of death in the same manner as were called to inquire into the death of the then chief of army staff General Asif Nawaz. He said that the foreign experts should have the ability to conduct DNA and other forensic tests in order to determine if the cause of death was poisoning.
Mr Hussain said that there was disquietude and unrest in the people of Sindh, particularly the JSQM workers, after the death of Mr Qureshi and called for bringing real facts before public.
Mr Hussain once again expressed solidarity with the leaders and workers of the JSQM and assured that the Urdu-speaking and Sindhi-speaking people of Sindh would continue to make united efforts for obtaining the rights of their province.
