CONVENER DR EHSAN APPEALS CJ FOR SUO MOTU ON UNLAWFUL ARREST, DISAPPEARANCE OF MQM AFFILIATES

LONDON. January 25, 2018: MQM Coordination Committee Convener Dr Nadeem Ehsan has appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of enforced disappearances of Coornation Committee ex-member Mr. Asharaf Noor and Mr. Akram Rajput and MQM activist Mr. Zair Arain. These MQM affiliates were picked by plain clothed paramilitary Rangers personnel from their houses. Their lives are in extreme danger as the paramilitary Rangers have not yet disclosed their whereabouts, nor they have formally admitted of arresting them nor have produced them in any relevant court of law, which clearly indicates their malicious agenda and hence they are in extreme danger.
It merits to mention that MQM activist Mr. Arain was picked by the paramilitary security force Rangers on January 13 from his houses in F. B. Area in Karachi’s central district, Mr. Rajput was picked on January 14 from his house in Korangi in Karachi’s eastern district while Mr. Noor was picked on January 20 enroute to his house after appearing in antiterrorist court and his attorney had promptly informed the Magistrate concerned about his forceful abduction by the paramilitary Rangers. In addition, Sindh High Court has also been informed about this through constitutional petitions for immediate action and safety of the activists. However, neither the paramilitary Rangers have so far produced them uin court of law concerned nor have they showed their arrests and that is the point of extreme alarm as the unlawfully detained activists might lose their lives as it happens usually.

In addition, the security forces are bent upon crushing Mohajirs and their sole representative Movement, they have picked and enforced to disappear brothers and relatives of MQM senior leaders such as Muneer Ali who is brother of Mr. Syed Mustafa Azizabadi, Mr. Khalid Hussain and Mr. Abdul Aziz Ansari who are nephews of founder and leader of the Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain and hundreds of other MQM activists, added the Convener.
The security forces neither admit their arrests nor they produce them in any court of law concerned for trial, which is violation of the constitution, law and the human rights and is tantamount to establishing their own state within the state. The unlawful arrest and detention is in all terms of expression is highly condemnable and a candid manifest of utmost tyranny.
He appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Saquib Nisar that since he has taken so many suo motu notices on variety of social and human rights issues so he should also pay heed to the unlawfully detained and enforced to disappear MQM activists and use his constitutional powers for safe return of them.
