Pakistan and feudal system cannot get along with each other. Feudal system impedes prosperity: Altaf Hussain

Pakistan and feudal system cannot get along with each other. Feudal system impedes prosperity: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 10/6/2013
The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has said that Pakistan and feudal system cannot get along with each other. Feudal system impedes prosperity of a country. A country which has an outmoded feudal system cannot progress. If we want to set the country on the path of progress, we must abolish feudal system.
Mr. Hussain expressed these views while giving a lecture on ‘National, International economic, social and regional situation’ to workers and members of the parliaments at the MQM’s International Secretariat.
Mr. Hussain said that we have seen  systems of governance since the beginning of this world.  We saw the period of tribal system, princedom, kings and emperors with the passage of time. We witnessed the emergence of socialist and communist systems because of the repression of industrialists. We also witnessed civil and military dictatorships in world. Today, we see democratic system in general across the globe.
Mr. Hussain said that every system faces gradual decline.  A system is destroyed if reforms are not done. We must respond to calls of times.  Those who reform systems witness prosperity and development.  He said sometimes a system fails. Its failures affect its surroundings.  Take the example of communism. The collapse of communism has changed the Russia and Central Asia.
He said that days of the tribal system and kings have numbered.  Although we see kingship many developed European countries including Britain. We see their impressive castles and kings. However, they are powerless and just like show pieces in museums. Decisions in these countries are done by elected parliaments.
He added that countries which were not willing to reform themselves were dying. Sometimes decline of a system disintegrates a country.  Feudal system has come to end all over the world. Unfortunately, this system still exists in our country while India abolished this system after independence. If we make comparison between India and Pakistan, we see that India has been progressing by leaps and bounds and Pakistan is still in turmoil. Feudal system dismembered our country. We did not learn any lesson from the tragedy and did not abolish the system.  There is a great disparity between rich and poor and it is increasing day by day.  Family members of feudal lords and industrialists are getting rich while common citizens have does not have basic services.
