RENDERING MOHAJIRS PENNILESS, HOMELESS A DEMONIC PLAN OF RACIST GOVERNMENT: COORDINATION COMMITTEE
The action of the government against elimination of take-away stalls of Mohajirs is based on grudge and is completely discriminatory. Government always targets Mohajirs and their businesses while huge encroachments on public and private lands by the people fluxed in the city from other provinces are not only protected but facilitated.
LONDON. December 19, 2017: Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee while showing grave concern over economic genocide of Mohajir Nations besides their physical genocide condemned the government for eliminating their sole source of living, the take-away stalls of petty and tiny goods, edibles and commodities in Karachi in the garb of removal of encroachments.
It said that, “The action of the government against elimination of take-away stalls of Mohajirs is based on grudge and is completely discriminatory.”“Government always targets Mohajirs and their businesses while huge encroachments on public and private lands by the people fluxed in the city from other provinces are not only protected but facilitated.”
The aliens in large number hailing from other provinces have been facilitated by the provincial and federal government for establishing their slums, occupying public and private lands and civic utilities. They have even occupied hills in north and west of the city and thousands of illegal premises have been constructed. The provincial government has facilitated these land grabbers with awarding them permanent lease of land free of cost.
It said that the defunct Karachi Development Authority has launched an extended demolishing operation in areas where Mohajirs have their businesses in form of take-away stalls, which are hugely been demolished.
The local administration on particular directives of the biased authorities concerned has even demolished residential premises of such indigent Mohajirs in the city, it deplored.
The Coordination Committee said if the government and all authorities concerned are sincere for demolishing all premises on encroached land, it should also indiscriminately start demolishing all illegal constructions, Goths (villages) established in Karachi illegally on encroached lands and illegally established markets. Otherwise, carrying out economic genocide of Mohajirs in the garb of encroachments should immediately be stopped. The government should stop its vested plans for rendering Mohajirs penniless and homeless.
