PAKISTAN’S PARAMILITARY RANGERS RESTRICTS MOHAJIRS TO HOLD RELIGIOUS RITUALS, RECITATION FROM HOLY QURAN

Military Establishment restricts Mohajirs to observe anniversary of mother of MQM founder leader Altaf Hussain - This is a sheer demonic act of the Paramilitary Rangers on gun point – Paramilitary Rangers also restricted organizers of Eid-e Milad Un Nabi (p.b.u.h). Pakistan’s military chief declared zealots of 23-day long sit-in protesters to keep country’s capital under siege, pressed government to deal with them and acted as guarantors of the zealots. MQM’s senescent deputy convener has been threatened of forced disappearance – Nadeem Nusrat

LONDON. December 5, 2017: Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee Convener Mr. Nadeem Nusrat has said vehemently condemned the paramilitary Rangers’ tyranny refusing MQM to observe anniversary of mother of Father of the Mohajir Nation and leader of the Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain at the residence of his sister. The Paramilitary force has restricted them to recite the Holy Quran as is the religious obligation to offer the benefits of the recitation to the departed souls.

In his statement, he said that a tent was erected at the residence of Mr. Hussain’s sister in Azizabad, Karachi so as to accommodate the participants to be gathered for performing the religious obligations including recitation from the Holy Book. However, the Paramilitary force’s heavy contingent led by a colonel arrived at the venue and forced the organizers of the ritual to pull out the tent and thus the force while using force prevented that ritual to take place. The Paramilitary Force also threatened of arbitrary arrests and onward aftermath to those who would dare to arrange any event of the ritual for offering prayers to the departed soul of Mr. Hussain’s mother.

Astonishingly, the Paramilitary Rangers prevented Muslims from reciting the Holy Quran. In addition, the force also pulled out another arrangement where other Muslims were preparing to hold a peaceful congregation of Eid-e Milad Un Nabi (Celebrations of birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad) peace be upon him. The Paramilitary Rangers also gave open threats to the organizers of that Eid-e Milad Un Nabi congregation not to go for any such event or else they should stay prepared for the dire consequences.

While condemning in possible strongest words, the Convener Mr. Nusrat said that the world had recently witnessed that a few hundreds of zealots had held the capital of the country hostage for continuous 23 days and staged a sit-in. The organisers and the activists of that protest sit-in had destroyed public and private property, attacked the residences of the elected Parliamentarians, tortured them and lynched dozens of law enforcers’ vehicles and injured hundreds of Police personnel and killed one cop. As a result of organised chain reaction, these zealots also paralysed life in the port city of Karachi and blocked every key artery and avenue in the city.

“The powerful military establishment of Pakistan pressed the government not to initiate any action or use force against the zealots but deal with them peacefully”, Mr. Nusrat said. “Pakistan’s military Chief General Qamar Jawaid Bajwah asserted publicly that those zealots were “OUR OWN PEOPLE” and hence the military would not come face to face with them.”

Later, the Pakistan’s military establishment forced the government to reach an agreement with the zealots and the military acted as solicitor, deplored the Convener.

Mr. Nusrat said that the agreement reached between the government and the zealots was approved by a sitting Major General. Pakistan’s military establishment ensured immediate release of all those involved in violence and the agreement approving Major General publicly distributed cash money top the rioters.

On the other, the military establishment has on gun point restricted the organizers to hold religious rituals for the prayers to the departed soul of mother of Mr. Hussain and even that the Paramilitary Rangers did not allow them to recite from the Holy Quran. In addition, the Paramilitary Rangers had also under use of force did not allow the conduction of Eid-e Milad Un Nabi peace be upon him.

The Convener said that the military establishment of Pakistan is also using all crooked means of force to prevent the observation of the Martyrs Day on December 9 this current month. The senescent deputy Convener of the MQM, Mr. Prof. Dr Hassan Zaffar Arif has been threatened of dire consequences, disappearance in case he would continue to work.

What a message the military establishment of Pakistan is passing to the Mohajir Nation and would such demonic measures not create negative sentiments among them? He questioned.

Mr. Nusrat demanded the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Pakistan’s military chief General Qamar Bajwah to stop these injustices to the Mohajir Nation. Stopped creating obstacles to the observance of the Martyrs Day on December 9 and do not use force preventing the participants from offering prayers to the departed souls of the Martyrs.

He also appealed to the human rights organizations to take notice of these injustices and atrocities on Mohajirs by the military establishment and help them.
