UNCHECKED VIOLENCE, A CANDID CLEAR INDICATION OF HANDING PAKISTAN TO EXTREMIST ELEMENTS: NADEEM NUSRAT

There is no doubt that Pakistan’s military and ISI are both directly patronising the extremists and for that concrete reason, they have not initiated any action against the extremist elements in federal capital of the city or any other city like Karachi

LONDON. November 25, 2017:  Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee Convener Mr. Nadeem Nusrat has expressed his utmost displeasure on agitation invoked by rioters in Islamabad. The rioters have attacked Police, Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel, Police stations, federal ministers, Parliamentarians and set their homes and public property ablaze.

While strongly condemning the above acts of terror by the religious fanatics, he said that the rioters had held the federal government under siege for 19 days despite all tolerance, softness and mediation and dialogue.

He said that the government on strict orders of Islamabad High Court for action against the religious fanatics and rioters initiated lawful action with law enforcement authorities, Police and FC but the miscreants reacted vehemently and as a result left many personnel as injured and killed one cop. The miscreants continued the violence all over Punjab.

The Convener said that, “The religious fanatics also torched more than a dozen of Police vans, personal vehicles of general public, DSNGs of private TV stations, gas filling stations and shops of ordinary citizens. Police stations, offices and houses of federal ministers were attacked on and even their houses were also set on fire.”

Conversely, the Convener continued to saying that the religious fanatics created unrest through their violent nature in port city of Karachi.

Mr. Nusrat said that they used arms and ammunition without check and fear in the presence of Police and paramilitary Rangers. They dissected key arteries of the city due to which millions of people suffered and all markets were forced to shut down, which inflicted colossal loss to ordinary traders and businessmen.

The religious fanatics are still keeping the citizens all over the country as hostage and roads and streets, bridges, underpasses and avenues are under siege because of their violent protest sit-in on many key routes of different cities particularly in Karachi, he said.

The violence in the garb of religious has caused brought a very bad name to Pakistan at the international level. The overall situation is quite deplorable and highly condemnable. the country has been put on fire by the religious maniacs that are just a few hundred in number but the entire state machinery has been paralysed.

It is clear that the country has deliberately been pushed towards extremist elements, argued the Convener, adding that the law enforcers, Police and paramilitary Rangers don’t hesitate for manhandling and arresting Mohajir women, who stage peaceful protest for safe return of their sons, brothers and husbands kidnapped by the security forces. The security forces use full force indiscriminately against them in the garb of maintaining peace.

Conversely, lady teachers, who took to streets a few days ago in Karachi over delay in emoluments that have accumulated for many months, they were brutally manhandled and arrested like they were herds of animals, he added.

On the contrary, Mr. Nusrat kept on saying; scenes of double standard of the law are open to witness in the country and especially in Karachi. The tragedy is spread all over Balouchistan, as well. Security forces mercilessly agonise Balouch women over their democratic right of protest against state atrocities, they face anti-human treatment from the security forces. The security forces on gun point force them to stay inside homes and use mosques’ loud speakers for making announcements.

The extremist elements used violence all over the country today but to the utmost astonishment of every single sensible person, the chief of Pakistani military General Qamar Jawed Bajwah passed a message on to the Prime Minister asking him not to use stern action against the extremists but take measures for resolving the issue through negotiations.

“There is no doubt that Pakistan’s military and ISI are both directly patronising the extremists and for that concrete reason, they have not initiated any action against the extremist elements in federal capital of the city or any other city like Karachi”, asserted the Convener.

How Pakistan could make progress when country’s military and premier intelligence would keep backing and rearing the extremist gangs in the country? he questioned.

He extended his condolence to the cop who was killed by the extremists and showed complete solidarity with the inured personnel of Police and ordinary civilians.
