HYDERABAD CARNAGE A BLACK DAY IN HISTORY; MARTYRS WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED: ALTAF HUSSAIN

“There is much hue and cry over Model Town shootout in which a dozen of civilians were gunned down by Police but neither the government nor any other in Pakistan ever talked about those 200 innocent Mohajirs, who were brutally martyred.” “This is a candid clear manifest of racial discrimination and grudge against Mohajir Nation in Pakistan.”

LONDON. Sep 30, 2017: Father of Mohajir Nation and Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) founding leader Mr. Altaf Hussain while recalling the Hyderabad tragedy, which pertained to genocide of Mohajirs in Hyderabad, said it was an unforgettable tragedy. It is a black chapter in history of Pakistan.

This he said on the 29th anniversary of martyrs of Hyderabad carnage that occurred on Sep 30, 1988. On that day, the armed killers had surrounded Mohajirs in different areas of Hyderabad and martyred them one by one. They had indiscriminately shot innocent passerbys, traders, shopkeepers, residents, men, women and children.

On that day when the soil of Hyderabad was bathed in blood of innocent Mohajirs, law enforcers, Police, Rangers and army were absent so as to give a complete free hand to the killers to accomplish their ulterior motives.

Mr. Hussain said that the Hyderabad carnage of Mohajirs does not find any antecedent in history of mankind but what make the carnage more disrespectful is that none of the killers has so far been taken to task but those who patronised the killers have been acquitted with respect from court of law.

He said, “There is much hue and cry over Model Town shootout in which a dozen of civilians were gunned down by Police but neither the government nor any other in Pakistan ever talked about those 200 innocent Mohajirs, who were brutally martyred.” “This is a candid clear manifest of racial discrimination and grudge against Mohajir Nation in Pakistan.”

Mr. Hussain paid rich tribute to martyrs of Hyderabad and reiterated his resolve that he and MQM would never forget martyrs of MQM.

He vowed to keep struggling for rights of Mohajir Nation for a destination that is already in sight.
