Rains inundate Karachi resulting from provincial government’s criminal negligence, corruption: MQM Coordination Committee
Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee has condemned Sindh provincial government over its criminal negligence amid torrential rains, which inundated the port city of Karachi. The failure of dewatering system, accumulation of rain water and sewage overflow created a situation of urban floods, which paralysed life and trade and economic activity in the port of city of Karachi.
It said that the provincial government has sacked all financial and administrative powers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation due to which the Corporation has become a paralysed organ. The provincial government is also not responding to peoples’ agonies that have resulted from this urban flood. Due to the criminal negligence, the entire city has inundated and peoples’ residences and trade has destroyed. This criminal negligence of provincial government converted the blessing of rains into a disaster for the Karachiites. Instead, the ministers of the provincial governments are humiliating the Karachiites wit their biased statements and announcements.
The Coordination Committee lambasted the ministers, who live in luxurious bungalows in Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority and in Dubai and they have no scruples on it. They have ruined the city of Karachi with their incapacity and corruption but there is no institution in Pakistan that could hold them accountable for their wrongdoings.
It said that the provincial government is directly responsible for whatever losses have been inflicted to the Karachiites and people of Hyderabad and other Mohajir dominated cities in Sindh province.
