CJ should take notice of custodial death of MQM worker Hussain Ghanchi

“The MQM Coordination Committee Convener demands action against personnel of Police, law enforcers for murdering MQM worker in detention”

Convener of Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Coordination Committee Nadeem Nusrat has appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Saquib Nisar to take suo moto notice on custodial death of MQM worker Muhammad Hussain Ghanchi in prison as he had also taken a suo motto notice of hooliganism of a feudal lord against Police a few days ago. The cops and Police officers, who killed Ghanchi from barbaric torture in custody should be arrested and taken to task as per law of the country.
In his statement, the Convener Nadeem Nusrat said that Police and Paramilitary Rangers have so far killed 73 MQM workers in custody and extra-judicially under military crackdown against MQM since 2013 till date but sadly, none of the law violators and killers in uniform were apprehended or taken to task.
He said that though the Sindh provincial government has constituted a committee to investigate on Ghanchi’s murder in custody but that was only a trick to dupe the masses and provide a shelter to the killers because similar probe committees were also formed in past but to no avail as the outcome of those probe committees was still missing. One of MQM worker Aftab Ahmed was also killed extrajudicially by the Rangers in custody as the slain was brutally tortured to death. Federal and provincial governments and even the ex- COAS General (Retd.) Rahil Shareef had vowed to bring the responsible to task but yet to no avail. Conversely, the bereaved family of slain Aftab was denied of justice.
He appealed to the CJ to take suo motto notice on custodial death of MQM worker Ghanchi and punish the personnel of Police and other law enforcing agencies for their crime. Family of martyred Ghanchi is waiting to see the justice is done.
