Another MQM worker Syed Abdul Naveed tortured to death
in custody of the Para-Military Rangers in Karachi

Anotherworker of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Syed Abdul Naveed who was in custodyof the Para-Military Rangers for the past 623 days , extra judicially killed inKarachi. He was brutally and inhumanly tortured to death while in custody andhis dead body was dumped by the Para-Military Rangers on 30thSeptember 2016 in rural Sindh, area called “Ounger” in the District ofThatta. The dead body was recovered on30th September 2016 by the workers of Edhi Trust which located hisfamily members today after having verified his identity from National Databaseand Registration Authority (NADRA) through fingerprints of the deceased andhanded over his body. Name: Syed Abdul Naveed s/o Syed Abdul Saeed, 26 years of age,unmarried and residing at House No: L-68, Sector 34/3, Korangi, Karachi. NICNo: 42201-1193803-9
He was arbitrarily arrested from his house on 31stJanuary 2015 in presence of his family
memberswithout any search or arrest warrants. He was dragged out of his house by thepersonnel of the Para-Military Rangers who were ruthlessly kicking him withtheir boots and hitting him with their butts of the guns during arrest in thepresence of eye-witnesses. He was taken to an unknown destination without anyaccess to law and family members. His family members submitted a petition atSindh High Court number of which is 890/15 for his recovery but to noavail.
Although, his family members and lawyers didnot know his whereabouts but according to reliable information later learntthat he was seen at 82 Wing of the Para-Military Rangers at Majeed Colony,Karachi.
Itis pertinent to note that the Para-Military Rangers commenced its Operationagainst the MQM in September 2013 and this is the 67th extrajudicialkilling of the MQM workers since the commencement of the Para-Military Rangersin Karachi.
