Rangers, LEAs become party against MQM, says Altaf Hussain
LONDON, 16-08-2016:
The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain said that the Rangers, police and other security agencies became party against MQM and deliberately violating the constitution by conducting illegal raids and arrests of innocent civilians and made them disappeared after their arrests.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief said that the law enforcement agencies did not respect the fundamental rights of the people to live in peace and safe. He said that the so-called Rangers personnel continuously violating the law and illegally raided and arrested innocent civilians and political workers to create panic among them.
He said that yesterday the Rangers stormed at MQM Johar Town Office and brutally tortured the participants of Quran Khawani being held and arrested innocent workers, including Councilor Cantonment Board Zeeshan Bashir, member Town Committee Anwarul Hassan, UC member Azhar Quraishi, Faisal Wahab and a worker Talha. He added that the Rangers seemed sparing no stone unturned to discriminate the rights of the people to live their lives according to their wish.
Mr. Hussain showed his grave concerns over the arrested workers and said that they could also be murdered in extra-judicial killings because there was no rule of law in Pakistan, especially in Karachi for the law enforcement agencies. He said meanwhile the Sindh government seemed nowhere in the picture because the Rangers had imposed its unconstitutional writ throughout the city and the dwellers had been suffering.
He said that nobody had raised any voice against the illegal raids and arrests of the people by the Rangers and the detentions without any provable evidence seemed no matter for the authorities and government. He said that it was now the courts’ turn to react against such illegal and unconstitutional activism of the Rangers and other security agencies against the innocent political workers and supporters.
The MQM Chief said that the Rangers were deliberately trying to create fear and panic among the Karachiites to manipulate their lawful mandate to choose their representatives and forcefully imposed aliens to achieve their illegal interest in the city. He said it was unfortunate that the courts seemed not listening the plea of MQM and its innocent workers.
He said that all the political parties, including the banned outfits in Karachi were allowed to take out rallies and demonstrations but an unannounced ban was imposed on MQM to malign it from the political arena. He prayed Almighty Allah to cursed on the discriminators and tyrants suppressing Muhajirs and violating their due rights.
